Amanda Thorp

My name is Amanda Thorp. I am a former high school math teacher in Pearland ISD. I have a BS in Mathematics specializing in Financial Math with minors in Finance and Economics from the University of Houston. I also have an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction. I have taught many different courses at different levels (PAP, Regular, Resource). While studying at UH, I had the opportunity to sing in choirs under the direction of both Dr. Mueller and Dr. Weber. I am also a member of Casulana, a volunteer women's chorus in Houston. I have played piano for many years. I am a frequent guest pianist at our church.

Coming from a family of professional musicians, my love of music has always been a big part of my life even as I continued to pursue my love of math!
